Fostering again

Exciting news, we’re fostering again after a wee break, and I swear I’m not just writing this post because the website annual renewal is just about due.

We picked up two absolute sweetheart cats yesterday - Milly and Molly. So we’re back to six cats in the house again. From what I know, their story is heartbreaking. Their previous owner had to go into an aged care facility and could not take them, so they were surrendered to the RSPCA. The poor darlings have probably led a quiet life and now found themselves in an animal shelter, which they did not enjoy, not one bit - completely shut down. But both girls are super affectionate - they just adore pats, bunting into hands and rubbing up against legs.

So we brought them home to give them a nice quiet life until they find their forever home. Both were terrified to begin with, but Milly is already starting to come out for the attention - you can even see her little paw reaching out to ask for more pats (instead of photos) in the top image. Poor little Molly was pretty intent on hiding this morning - that’s ok, we’ll just give her some more time and space, and attention when she wants it. It means I haven’t gotten a photo of her at our home yet, so I will just pinch one of her from RSPCA.

I hope they find a furever home quickly, but they just seem so adorable that I kind of want it to take a while so we get to know them a bit better first. Their story makes me sad, and scares me about what might happen to our cats if something happened to us. But it is exactly the sort of story that makes me want to foster.

That’s all for today - I do intended to keep the photos coming of these two sweetheart girls, and to come back and share Lucky’s story.
