Happy gotcha day Pikelet!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I’m looking to get back into it and have a few ideas for some posts (and plenty of foster cats photos to share the world).

I’m going to ease back into it with a nice short text update and just share a few photos. A few months back I heard from Pikelet’s parents on the first anniversary of Pikelet’s Gotcha Day. They shared some photos of the little girl’s first year and said, “Can’t believe it’s been a year now, Pikelet has become such an integral part of our little family.”

Fostering has been so rewarding. But Pikelet feels extra special because, and this may or may not be actually reality, but it feels like Pikelet was one cat that we truly saved. RSPCA Queensland has so many wonderful foster parents, but more often than not there are more animals needing a chance in foster than there are homes for them. We happened to be free when Pikelet needed a home, and I’m not too sure how things would have turned out if she hadn’t found a home. It took a lot of patience to win her over, to let her discover how nice humans affection can be. I think we saved her and gave her a chance to find the perfect family with Victoria and James. So please enjoy this gallery of Pikelet’s first year with her family.

And hopefully more posts from me to come soon.
